Wheelwright, KY
On Friday, August 6th a team of 45 traveled to Wheelwright, KY for a back-to-school celebration. The group delivered 166 back-to-school boxes to 68 different families in this Appalachian region. Also delivered were boxes and boxes of clothes, toiletries and cleaning supplies. Some of the families we met over the weekend were struggling just to keep the lights on within their homes. In fact, one family had been without electric for 3 months. Their only relief from the heat had come from a box fan powered through an extension cord running from another home. Oftentimes we do not realize that this sort of poverty is still prevalent in America. We would welcome you to join us the first weekend of December as we return to Wheelwright to throw a huge Christmas bash for these very special families.
